Great Letter to the Editor sent to us by author Jan Finnamore.! Please consider sending in a short response to the Sentinel to keep up the momentum. This letter was received 6-17-09

To the Editor:

Let's be clear. If you voted "Democrat" in the last election, this is the change you voted for:

 On the State level:

  • You wanted your underage, 13 yr. old daughter to be able to have an abortion without your knowledge or consent.

  • You wanted to allow cross-dressed men in all of the girls public & school restrooms/locker rooms without any questions asked.

  • You wanted your 5 yr. old to be taught in school that two dads or two moms make up a normal family.

  • You wanted your high schooler to be taught that experimenting with alternative sex is normal and okay so they can decide what gender they might like to marry one day.

  • You wanted a photographer who refused to photograph a gay marriage to be heavily fined and punished.

  • You wanted (but did not get) your pastor/priest to be heavily fined and punished if he refused to perform a same-sex marriage.

  • You wanted to pay more money in taxes at the gas pump.

  • You wanted to pay more money in taxes every time you stay in a hotel.

  • You wanted to pay higher fees for highway tolls.

  • You wanted to "pick up the tab" with your property taxes at Christmas time for the leftover $83 million unfunded school construction aid the Democrats left out of the "budget."

  • You wanted to pay a tax every time you sell something over $5000. (Capital Gains Tax)

  • You wanted to pay more money for liquor and cigarettes.

  • You wanted the state to have an unbalanced, irresponsible budget accumulating massive debt.

  • You wanted your child's teacher pension fund to be depleted and unsustainable.

  • You wanted your doctor's insurance fund to be depleted and rewritten so that the money he paid into the system is now confiscated for the state.

  • You wanted to pay more money to register your car, fish in the river, hunt for turkeys, or run a boat.

  • You wanted marijuana to be legal.

  • You wanted to be fined for not wearing a seat belt.

 On the National level:

  • You wanted our country to reduce its missile defense by 15% to allow gaps for missiles from N. Korea to get through. (Hope you don't live in a "gap.")

  • You wanted to print so much money that our dollar would become a completely worthless piece of paper.

  • You wanted to accumulate the most national debt ever imaginable so that you and future generations will automatically lose half of the paycheck to deductions.

  • You wanted to pay a $3000/yr. increase on your electric bill. (Cap & Trade)

  • You wanted the president to be able to take over any private business and fire any CEO at will.

  • You wanted the president to have complete control over the internet, the information on it as well the ability to shut it down at will. (Cybersecurity Act 2009)

  • You wanted to have the government decide if you qualified for a certain medical treatment or not.

  • You wanted to pay a Value Added Tax --a national sales tax on things you buy.

  • You wanted to have automatically deducted a huge chunk of money from your paycheck every week for "free healthcare" for immigrants, drug addicts and everyone else.

  • You wanted your tax dollars to fund unlimited abortions in other countries around the world.

  • You wanted more American jobs to go to the Chinese --everything from car manufacturing to condoms.

So...let's see, did I leave anything out?  I'm sure I did--it's dizzying trying to keep up with all of these changes.

How are you doing with that, by the way?  Can you list who your senators and representatives are?  Do you know what they have been up to?  Have you checked their voting records lately?  Do you know which ones aren't even showing up to vote in the state house?  It might be good to check up on them if you haven’t done that in a while.
